Welcome to my Therapy and Counselling Practice
Life can be challenging when faced with personal, relational, or work-related difficulties. During these times, it's crucial to have someone who will listen to you, understand your struggles, and provide trustworthy support. As a professional counsellor, I am here to be that vital catalyst for your healing and growth.
My name is Wendy Matthews, and I practice as a therapist, counsellor, and InnerSense/breathwork facilitator practicing in Auckland, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Whether you prefer face-to-face sessions or the convenience of online counselling via Zoom, I offer both options to cater to your needs. With clients in New Zealand and abroad, geographical boundaries are not a limitation – I am available to work with you, no matter where you are in the world.
I understand the importance of accessibility, and I am committed to providing my services throughout the week. You can reach out to me anytime, as I am available seven days a week.
Wondering “Do I need counselling?”
You may be experiencing various manifestations of depression or anxiety, and these feelings can affect each of us differently. It could be due to the uncertainty prevailing in the world, recent redundancy, trauma, work or career struggles, relationship concerns, addiction or eating disorders, identity crisis, or even a general contemplation of life's purpose. If you find yourself going through something unfamiliar and believe that nobody else could possibly understand, remember that you don't have to face it alone. I am here to help you discover a path to a better place.
My therapy and counselling practice in Parnell, Auckland is open to people from all corners of the globe. Together, we will embark on a journey of self-inquiry, mindfulness, and increased self-awareness, aiming to identify the root causes of the pain and discomfort you're experiencing. Rather than relying on the mind's repetitive pattern of analysis, interpretation, and external blame, I encourage you to turn inward. By developing inner self-awareness, you will take full responsibility for the quality of your life experience. Through heightened consciousness and an emerging sense of awareness, you will regain the ability to truly feel your feelings, delve into the core of your suffering, and find your way towards inner harmony and joy.
I utilise a diverse range of tools to support your holistic well-being, including meditation and mindfulness practices, breathwork, pranayama practices, the eight limbs of yoga, and dialogue-based guidance to provide context and clarity to whatever arises in your experience.
As part of my commitment to your well-being, I lead a regular meditation class each week. Our free weekly session is on NZT Tuesday mornings, at 6:30 am and is open to all, and you can join us using the provided Zoom link here.
